In The News: What's the Deal With Fake News?

To successfully complete the assignment, you will need to:

1. choose a research topic from the following list:

• climate change / global warming
• vaccination debate

2. find and compile two lists of news articles. One list will be of 3 news articles you have investigated and verified to be accurate and the other list will include 3 news articles that have not been verified, lack evidence, and rely too heavily on the author's opinion. You will create a Google Slide with a team member on how to identify Fake News. 

3. explain your list and your Google Slide to the class in a presentation with your team member.

4. write a three paragraph letter to your friend, Mason, warning him of the dangers of false information available on the internet. 

5. Don't forget to follow the steps, fill out the worksheet, and watch the video provided. By the end of this Webquest you will be a certified expert in spotting Fake News!
