Preparation of solutions.

Dilution:

It refers to the process of adding additional solvent to a solution to decrease its concentration.

The solution is composed of one or more substance (the solute) dissolved in another substance (the solvent) forming a homogenous mixture. 

To understand the process of dilution, 100 ml of a  NaCl solution are prepared in the laboratory and then a dilution is performed 10 times.
