Crossing the Sahara
Task
The year is A.D. 1500, and you are part of a six-person team of scholars participating in an academic competition. The members of the team with the most detailed, neat, and organized presentation will have their work included in a great library. The research topic is West Africa. The subjects are trade, history and geography, and culture in the empires of Ghana, Mali, and the current Songhai empire.
You will meet with your team to divide and research the topics. After researching West African empires, the team will use their research to create a PowerPoint or a Prezi to present their information. Teams will also create an interactive timeline using an internet resource.
