Welcome to South Africa

The American Institute of Monterrey  is ready to celebrate International Week and it is the job of the 2nd.  graders in 2A is to introduce this country and all the excitement it has to offer to all the children in our school. To share our research, you will be making PowerPoint presentations that will make everyone wish they could take a trip to South Africa right away! You will need to tell them where South Africa is, the capital city, the kind of money that is used there, and the best things to see and do. They will want to see a map and the flag of the country. Adding photos and South African music will make your presentation irresistible!

You will work in teams of 3 students. Each team will pair up to gather information for the following topics: History;  Geography; Tourist Information; The Cradle of Mankind; all about the South African Flag; wildlife and  Culture Connections.

Attached you will find the worksheets each pair will need  to collect the information. Don't forget to write down your sources! We have to give credit to the books and websites that helped you with these tasks.
