Personal Penguin

Your task is to discover information about actual penguins, using the websites provided. After you become a penguin expert, you will use this knowledge to CREATIVELY write a story about you and your personal penguin. You will have to FACTUALLY answer the following questions about your penguin in your story:

� What is your penguin�s name?
� What type of penguin is he/she?
� What does your penguin look like?
� Where does your penguin typically live?
� What does your penguin eat?
� How does your penguin catch his food?
� What does your penguin do on a daily basis?
� What makes your penguin unique from other types of penguins?
� What else can you tell me about your penguin? (Please include 3-5 random facts about your penguin that have not been answered in the other questions)

Your goal should be to answer these questions while still telling a creative story; I do not want you to merely list the answers to these questions, I want them to be incorporated into your story. However, you must site your sources on the last page of your story
      In writing your story, please include ONE line from Sandra Boynton�s book �Your Personal Penguin�, which can be heard sung online by Davy Jones at the following website: www.workman.com/boynton , as well as photocopies of the book itself will be available to use during class-time. After you have created your story, please check your work for spelling, grammar, and mechanics errors, and turn it in accompanied by a picture of your personal penguin. This picture can either be found on the internet or actually hand-drawn, and it should look like the penguin you have described in your story. Overall, have fun with this; make your story creative and have fun telling me the story of you and your personal penguin!
