Go, Glow and Grow Food

Lets go shopping, you will need your materials for the shopping spree. You will collect your shopping basket, money, shopping bag and shopping list.

Phase 1

You will collect your activity items; shopping basket, money, shopping bag, shopping list, markers, crayons, paper, glue, pencil, pictures and disposable plates.

• One student or the teacher can be the cashier.
• The shopping area will be set up with the different food items and the price tags on each item.
• You will collect your materials and complete your shopping list before you start shopping
• You will only shop for items on your shopping list
• After shopping you will bring all your items to the cashier and have them cash, you will pay for all your items
• You will then pack all the items in your shopping bag
• Take the items to your work area and group each items in their correct group. Go, glow and grow food.
• From the different groups you will then create a healthy balance meal poster from the list of items you have. 

Phase 2

• Based on the items collected you will group them according to their types; go, glow and grow food.
• You will then put them on the disposable plate in the most presentable way you can   
• The teacher will then assess each child shopping list, poster and presentation to see if they corresponds.
