Process


  1. Students will form form groups of 8

  2. Each group will break up into 4 teams. Choose the team with which you choose to participate during the project: engineering, sales and marketing (business), or animation.

  3. Each Team will choose a team leader to report to project manager.

  4. The entire group will discuss the task and brainstorm their account on their blog.

  5. Submit final design to the Project Manager and post on your blog.

  6. The Business Team (sales and marketing) will submit a budget to the  project manager based upon cost analysis of parts and brainstorming session with group.

  7. The Project Manager will submit cost analysis to instructor via the blog.

  8. The Engineering Team will refine design chosen during brainstorming.

  9. The Engineering Team will re-submit design to Business Team and get an "okay" on design cost.

  10. The Engineering Team will submit the final design to both Business and Animation Teams with technical specifications for design.

  11. The Animation Team will confirm design and begin technical drawings; confirm cost of drawings with Business Team.

  12. The Animation Team will submit hand drawings (in digital format) of design prior to virtual mock-up to Project Manager for posting to the blog.

  13. The Team leaders will report to Project Manager bi-weekly through blog.

  14. The Project Manager will report to instructor in person at least bi-weekly, more if necessary to remedy conflicts.

  15. The Engineering team will begin building

  16. The Business Team will maintain the cost of design and animation, as well as formulating a design for sales and marketing of the final product.

  17. The Business Team will begin designing the presentation of project through PowerPoint, Glogster or other multimedia presentation.

  18. The Animation team will confirm the technical specifications with Engineering Team to assure continuity of design over the past several days.

  19. The Project Manager will maintain order within groups and encourage staying on schedule while encouraging the great effort of the group members.

  20. The Project Manager must check-up on progress of individual members� blogs.

  21. The Engineering team, begin testing design by 5th week of assignment

  22. The Engineering team will begin programming robot for full autonomy by 6th week.  Programming code must be posted to the blog by the Project Manager

  23. The Business team will need to finalize the cost of total design and building of the product and estimate a market cost for the product.

  24. The Project Manager will discuss, in person, market and cost of design with the teacher.

  25. The Animation Team will finalize the drawing and submit to both Business and Engineering team leaders blogs for any additions.

  26. Re-submit after making corrections.

  27. All teams come together for final testing of product and photo-shoot with product by 11th week.

  28. Make any additional changes as needed.

  29. The Project Manager will submit entire design, robot, programming, animation, and sales and marketing data, as well as presentation intended to lure customers by the 13th week.

  30. Final testing and presentation of design in front of Mrs. Herbig, faculty, and administration.

  31. NOTE: ALL TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS BE SURE TO MAINTAIN GROUP BLOGS AND INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTABILITY THROUGH PERSONAL BLOGS ON EDUBLOGS.
