Procedure

1. The students will write the following questions on a chart paper and place it on the board and use powerpoint slide:

What is their understanding of  Pollution and how it impacts living things? 

Do the students think the quality that pollution in their environment is good or bad?

How do students know? What evidence is there to prove pollution?

Why is it important for students to talk about pollution? Guide the students to identify the

importance of keeping their environment rid of pollutants. Explain that the burning of a pollutant can contribute to a variety of

illnesses such as asthma and cancer.

2. I will divide the whole class into groups of 5-6 students and instruct them to find the answers for the above questions. Each group needs to

report the group discussion findings to the whole class.

3. I will help the students understand better, power-point on The Environment will be watched. Lead the discussion based on this real-life scenario. \

4. I will Explain the definitions of the different types of Pollution  (criteria and hazardous pollutants), Ambient, Indoor, and Urban and Rural

air pollution using the Resource Materials or power point presentation.

5. The students in their groups will now be asked to present a chart with pollutants on it as it relates to the environment.

6. When their research is complete, each group should choose one pollutant that has been affected by the factor they have been assigned

and prepare an environmental impact statement about it. Each statement should include four elements:

  • a description of the current environmental status of the school 
  • a description of the way or ways in which the factor affects their surrounding 
  • a description of the existing methods that are being used to combat the factor
  • suggestions for future methods of combating the factor

7. The group will prepare an activity with the information given above in a role place format; then create a chart and a powerpoint.

This will be an assignment given to the learners for a seven (7) days period to prepare and act in front of the class for a duration of 30 mins.
