Step One:  Who was a Founding Father?

  • What does it mean to be a Founding Father?
  • What did a person have to do to be called a Founding Father?
  • A bowl containing pieces of paper with names on them will be passed around the room.
  • Each student will chose a piece of paper from the bowl.
  • The name on the piece of paper will contain a name of one of the Founding Fathers.  This will be the Founding Father that your group will research.
  • Students will then pair up with the other student that drew the same name. This will be your research team.
Step Two: Find out more information about the Founding Father your group selected and what you think is the most important information to present to the class.
  • Print out the provided graphic organizer to use during your webquest.
  • Find important information about your Founding Father.
  • What were his accomplishments?
  • What were his inventions?
  • Here are links to explore in your research of your Founding Father.
