Process
First, visit the website Advanced Composition for Non-Native Speakers of English.
- Read the short article on the right side of the page: �The Five Paragraph Essay's Equivalent in Music.�
- Click to Listen and download the music file. Listen to "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and its variations by Mozart.
Second, think about these questions. Talk to the other students in the class about them, too.
- What is the point that the writer is making by comparing the 5-paragraph essay to this music written by Mozart?
- Can you make a similar comparison in math or science or art? How?
Third, all fields of knowledge have basic facts or basic skills that you have to learn before you can become really good in that field. Let's explore basic knowledge in a couple of fields:
