Steps to creating a successful timeline

 

 

 

Materials needed:   Large board, sample pictures of famous artists at least (8) , markers, access to the internet, glue, scissors, and a ruler.

 

 

 

 

 

Some core Questions to be answered for timeline by students:

 

  1. When did Jazz begin?
  2. What are the influences in jazz?
  3. Give a brief biography on at least 3 famous jazz singers?
  4. What are the different types of jazz name at least 3 subcategories?
  5. Where is jazz most popular?
  6. Has jazz merged with other types of music for example Latin fussion?
  7. What do we know about jazz today? Has it evolved?
  8. Do you see Jazz changing in the future? What should we expect as musicians?  
  9.  Name a famous contemporary singer who has jazz influences in their music.

 

 

 

 

Steps:                                                                                      

1. Research the topic on "Jazz" for  important information and take notes.

 

 

 

 

 

2.  Make sure you gather have dates of famous people and events.

 

 

 

 

 

 

3.  Begin the process of building a timeline.

 

 

 

 

 

 

4.  Create your 1st draft.

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Have a trustworthy peer check it and give advice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

6.  Use the advice  if you want make necessary corrections.

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. Create your final draft and your done.

 

 

 

 

 

 

8. Present your presention to your class or peer.
