The Short Story Elements

         This story will be read in four days.  The first day will be dedicated to describe the main characters (Merceds an Carlos) ont the pictures provided and introduce the vocabulary in context.  The second day will be dedicated to read and analyze the first two pages of the short story. The students will provide input in their own words as to where the setting takes place. Morre vocabulary words will be provided to help students understand the pages they are reading.  The third day will be dedicated to read the next pages  and describe the picture shown.  The main events or sequence of events will be written on the board. Selected students will come to the board and write one event. Then, another student will be selected and do the same until at least six events are written on the board. Out of those six, two will be eliminated to help them get a good grip as to what main events really means. Then, the students will tell what they think the climax of the story is.  On the fourth day,
