Part 1:  Visit http://chem4kids.com/files/atom_structure.html and define the terms on the WebQuest worksheet.  Also, take the quizzes at the bottom of the webpage and record your score on the WebQuest worksheet.  You will need to know this information as you travel back in time.

Part 2:  Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUzTQWn-wfE and watch "The Atom Song" video.  Answer the questions on the WebQuest worksheet.  You will meet four of these scientists when you travel back in time.

Part 3:  Visit https://www.universetoday.com/60058/democritus-atom/ to travel back in time to meet the Ancient Greek philosopher Democritus.  Read the description of his atomic theory to answer the question on the Webquest worksheet.

Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhWgv0STLZs&feature=related and watch the first 2 minutes and 55 seconds of the "Stucture of the Atom 1:  The Earliest Models" video.  Answer the questions on the WebQuest worksheet.

Part 4:  Visit http://www.kentchemistry.com/links/AtomicStructure/dalton.htm to travel back in time to meet John Dalton.  Answer the question on the WebQuest worksheet.

Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmmglVNl9OQ&feature=related and watch the first 3 minutes and 18 seconds of the "Structure of the Atom 2:  Smallest of the Smallest" video.  Answer the question on the WebQuest worksheet.

Part 5:  Visit http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/electromag/java/crookestube/index.html to travel back in time to meet Sir William Crookes.  Increase the voltage of Crooke's Tube to the maximum.  Answer the questions on the WebQuest worksheet.

Visit http://www.kentchemistry.com/links/AtomicStructure/JJThomson.htm to travel back in time to meet J. J. Thompson.  Watch the video on the cathode ray tube and run the simulation.  Answer the questions on the WebQuest worksheet.

Part 6:  Visit http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/electromag/java/rutherford/ to travel back in time to meet Ernest Rutherford.  Increase his lead screen slit width to the maximum.  Answer the questions on the WebQuest worksheet.

Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfY4R5mkMY8 and watch the entire "Structure of the Atom 3:  The Rutherford Model Video".  Answer the questions on the WebQuest worksheet.

Part 7:  Visit https://phet.colorado.edu/sims/cheerpj/hydrogen-atom/latest/hydrogen-atom.html?simulation=hydrogen-atom to travel back in time to meet Niels Bohr.  Set the PHeT Simulation for Prediction and then click on the Bohr Atomic Model to see the Bohr Atomic Model.  After the Bohr Atomic Model appears, set the Light controls to monochromatic and turn on the gun to see what colors Bohr observed for the spectrum of the Hydrogen atom.  Answer the questions on the WebQuest worksheet.

Part 8:  Visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-3I1JGW-Ck to review some things that you should have learned during your travels back in time.  Watch the entire "What is an atom?" video.  Answer the questions on the WebQuest worksheet.
