Atomic Theories - Past, Present, and Future

Teacher Page

This webquest was designed to help students learn about some of the more popular atomic theories that have been developed over the years.  The webquest introduces students to some of the people responsible for the theories and it familiarizes them with the experiments that were conducted to make certain key discoveries.  I would recommend using this webquest at the beginning of a chapter on atoms.  It will take approximately three 45 minute class periods to complete and it should help students to gain a better understanding of the modern atomic theory.   I also recommend having the students work in groups of 2 or 3 with 1 computer between them.  This will help to illiminate distractions.
