You are now ready to become an expert in all aspects of bullying. The process is broken up into 3 parts below:

In Part A you will find 10 tasks which use internet content to help you learn about bullying, including websites, animations, online quizzes, interactive activities, videos and eBooks.

In Part B you will use digital web tools (speaking avatars, posters and cartoon makers) to show what you have learnt about bullying.

In Part C you will learn about play scripts and read examples of plays, to familiarise yourself with how plays are put together. This will provide you with the skills necessary to create and perform bullying plays in your small groups.

There are 3 types of tasks:
1. Whole Class - work together as a class using the data projector
2. Computer Lab - work through the task individually in a lab session
3. Small Groups - work on the activity in a small group

So it's time to get started!

PART A
Work through the 10 Tasks below:

Task 1 � Quizzes (whole class)

Complete the 3 quizzes below in the classroom using the data projector. You can write your answers on note pad paper.

Click on "Smart Stuff" then go to �Spot it".  Answer the questions in the 2 sections:
�Are you a Target?�  This will help you decide if you are being bullied.
�Do you Bully?� This will help you decide if you may be bullying others.

Task 3 - Bullying Behaviours Worksheet (whole class)

Print out the worksheet in the resources section below called "Task 3 - Bullying Behaviours". How much do you know about the 3 types of bullying? Sort the types of bullying into the correct groups. Discuss the answers as a whole class using the data projector.

Task 4 � The Bully Ebook (computer lab)

Activity 1 - Ebook

Scroll down to �The Bully (free e-book)� and click on the red book �The Bully�.
Then click on �RUN� in both message boxes.
Click on the arrows to read through the story.
Then complete the 9 quiz questions at the end.

Activity 2 - Fiction Stories
Find examples of fiction stories in your school library involving bullying. Read the stories with your classmates, discussing the bullying scenarios presented.

Task 5 - Webisodes (whole class)

Watch the 12 animated webisodes about bullying as a class using the data projector. Work through the discussion questions together.

Task 6 � Cyberbullying (whole class)

Go to the website - http://stopcyberbullying.org/  and follow along with the introduction. Then click on �Skip this Intro� at the bottom of the screen.
Then click on the �7-10� icon. Go to the �Are you a cyberbully?� quiz.
Work through the questions together as a class using the data projector.

Then go to the right hand side menu and watch interviews with the characters (Kim, teacher, mum, Rob, Joe). Discuss the video as a class.

Task 7 � Bullying Worksheets (small groups)

In this task you will work in your small group of 6 students.

Go to the resources below and open up and print the document - "Task 7 - Bullying Worksheets". There will be 3 activities to work through in your small group. Your teacher will explain the activities to the whole class first using the Data Projector.

Activity 3 - Tattling or Telling

When your group has finished the 3 worksheets, come back together as a whole class to discuss the answers.

Task 8 � Story Strips (computer lab)

Choose a story strip situation that describes a school bully and fill in the character bubbles with how you think the scene would play out.

You can also click on "Story Strip of the Week" to see what other students have come up with.

Task 9 - Games (computer lab)

Task 10 � Blogs (computer lab)

Go to the Blogs section of your Virtual Classroom. Create a blog entry responding to the bullying questions listed below:

Describe a situation when you were bullied or when you saw someone else being bullied. What happened? How did you respond? Was this the best way to handle the situation? What could you have done differently?

Read and respond to the entries written by your classmates. Can you suggest other ways they could have handled the bullying situation?

P.S. Do not provide names of real people in your descriptions.

PART B
Work through the next 3 digital web tool tasks to show your understanding about bullying:

Task 1 � Speaking Avatar (computer lab)

Create a speaking avatar about bullying. Imagine that your school will be broadcasting the avatars to the students in your school to educate them about bullying.

Task 2 � Poster (computer lab)

Go to the Glogster website -  http://www.glogster.com/
Create a digital poster which will be displayed in your school to educate students about bullying.

Task 3 � Cartoons (computer lab)

Create a cartoon strip demonstrating a bullying scenario and a possible solution.


PART C
Now you are ready to learn all about play scripts to help you create a bullying play. Work through the tasks below:

Task 1 � Play Scripts (small groups)

Read a variety of play scripts in your small groups to develop an understanding of how they are structured. This will help you to develop your own group bullying play.

Task 2 � Courtroom Drama (whole class)

Open up the resource below called �Courtroom Drama�. As a whole class you will
re-enact a court scene involving bullying. Your teacher will explain what to do.

Task 3 � Plays � Bullying Scenarios (small groups)

Open the resource below called �Plays � Bullying Scenarios�. There are 4 bullying scenarios. Your teacher will allocate a scenario to each group. Print out copies for all group members. Work together as a group to come up with a solution to the scenario. Your teacher will give you time to practice your play, before presenting to the class.

Task 4 � Play Videos (whole class)
