Digital Media on the road

Digital Citizens alert........ some 6th graders have been seen using digital media such as iPods, cell phones, and computers in the library and on the school bus. You will be assigning these 6th grader a series of websites to look at in order to make sure they understand the importance of being a smart digital citizen.
Here is the Essential Question the 6th graders will have: What is the role of the digital citizen (you) in the 21st Century?


The job of the 7th & 8th graders will be to explore various digital media in terms of digital citizenship and the change in use of electronic gadgets over the past five to ten years. 7th & 8th grade students will look at the Essential Question, read or watch the websites listed on the following pages, and will answer the questions that follow. These tasks will help you decide on what to look for on sites that would be suitable for 6th graders. Once you have completed your task, your small group will use three assigned search engines to locate at least two websites that you think would help to explain some Digital Citizenship issues to those wild 6th graders.
