Things Fall Apart

For this unit, you will read Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. But, before you begin, it is useful to acquire some background information on the novel and the author.  

You have been contacted by the Fernbank Natural History Museum to create a guided tour pamphlet of some African artifacts that will be on display to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the publication of Things Fall Apart. 

Some questions that will be answered in your pamphlet and guided tour: 

• What is the history of Nigeria?
• Who are the Igbo?
• What is colonialism and who colonized Africa?
• Who is Chinua Achebe and why did he write Things Fall Apart?
• What is the significane of the title?
