As we begin this exploration of quadrilaterals, it is important to realize why we spend time learning about these shapes.  Look around.  How many quadrilaterals can you spot just in the room you are in?  Now, think about our world.  How often do you see quadrilaterals?

Because quadrilaterals are everywhere in our world, it is important for us to know the properties that make them up.  It is also important to know how we can utilize them to enhance our lives.
