Pythagoras theorem is a very interesting topic in mathematics, what makes it more interesting is when persons can integrate it in their daily lives. Pythagoras theorem deals with only right angle triangle. On this triangle the longest side is called the hypotenuse and the two other sides are called the adjacent sides. The formula that is often use in Pythagoras Theorem is represented as the hypotenuse squared = to adjacent squared + adjacent squared.

Picture your self standing at the corner flag on a football field call where you are standing point A, and you are been ask to run towards the flag that is diagonal to the one you are standing which is point C. The other points are A and D which forms the rectangular shape. Which direction would you take to reach this destination.

What if you choose to run diagonally from A to C and your best friend John chooses to run from A to B then to C. What shape do you think will be formed? after the completion of this race. A right angled triangle was the shape formed by you and your friend.

What if John runs a distance of 40m from A to B then a further 30m from B to C. Find the distance you think you will run.
