Periodic Trends

In the year 1869, Dmitri Mendeleev published an organizational system for the elements called the "Periodic Table."  Though he was not the first to try to categorize the elements, Mendeleev was able to create an incredibly accurate organizational system - so accurate, in fact, that it was even able to predict the properties of elements that wouldn't be discovered for another 145 years!  We can use the incredible abilities of the periodic table to predict trends that affect bonding and reactivity.
