This assignment will be covering the historical accounts in the 1700's prior to the revolution in France, details of The French Revolution, and the involvement of Napoleon Bonaparte including his triumphs leading to seizing control of France as the emperor and his defeat during the 1800's.

Essential Questions: How did Louis XVI's weak leadership contribute to the growing crisis in France? Why did the royal palace at Versailles become the focal point for the anger of the poor people of Paris during the Revolution? What did the September Massacres show about the mood of the people? What major reforms did the National Assembly introduce? How was Napoleon able to become dictator and seize power in France? How did Napoleon become a hero in France? Why did Napoleon have trouble fighting the enemy forces in the Peninsular War?
