Promoting Virtual Learning Environments in T.E.S.L & T.E.F.L Classrooms

By paying attention to how education works in the 21st century, there is a necessity to make a deep analysis, to focus on and to emphasize the implemention of technology in the classroom. Now, how can technology be connected to the task "English Language Teaching (E.L.T)"? Actually, the implemention of technology in Teaching English as a Second Language (T.E.S.L) and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (T.E.F.L) classrooms is in a relationship with the different educational environments that are possible to develop in a teaching-learning process in those English approaches.

It is meaningful to recall that the 21st century skills, which are also known as "The 4Cs in Language Teaching and Learning", are: Critical Thinkng, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity. At the same time, it is significant to remember three key words for any teaching-learning process; they are: Meaningfulness, Purposefulness and Relevance (Authentic Learning). Such areas can be carried out and accomplished by / on learners by engaging them to different academic environments; among them: Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs). But, how are English facilitators or instructors able to promote VLEs in their T.E.S.L & T.E.F.L classrooms?

In order to do that, it is important to analyze some theory and practice about this learning environment approach, and to come up with conclusions about it. This, not only by reading information and summarizing it, but also by putting into practice such information in real-life experiences, situations and contexts.
