Why is it we are still talking about pain?  Is it that we have not yet learning how to () manage pain or it is it that we still perceive pain objectively?  Is this fairto the patient that healthcare providers including nursing have still notunderstand that pain is subjective, and their beliefs and perceptions of pain while important to them can not be impose upon the patient.  The job of healthcare providers is to find the best possible treatment plan individualize to each patient, using the latest best evidence base practice (EBP) within their scope of practice.  If the concept of pain and pain management is still not fully understand by practitioners, then the process of end of life and pain management is even more difficult to understand and manage ().  Itis therefore the aim of the facilitator to have to learner research this topic, look at the components of pain, pain management, patient and family culture and beliefs, and the effects on how nurses' will manage chronic pain of the terminally ill.  Gaining an insight into the conceptof EOL, and be able to self reflect on how their perception of pain would influence how they provide pain management intervention.
