Nursing: Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome (NRDS)

Respiratory distress in the neonate is a critical event. When a baby is born and has respiratory issues, there is no time to lose. Nurses of neonates need to be prepared for respiratory distress, and know how to address it. By gaining a greater knowledge of what neonatal respiratory distress is, looks like, and by learning and understanding basic interventions to alleviate the distress, nurses can become more confident in the care of the critically ill neonate.
