You are encouraged to draw your native flag with the template provided. On the back of your flag,  write a sentence about Cultural Diversity.
                                       THINK- Do you have pride associated with your  newly made flag?

  •                             What does 'Different but One" mean to you?

STEP FOUR:

Your teacher will find the time to see if she or he can link you up with a new classmate.
                                       THINK-Do you think that it is a good idea to have a pen pal?


  •                            What  do you want to tell your new friend about what you are learning?

STEP FIVE:

This writing is, perhaps, the most significant  to you an to your classmates.  
                                         THINK- Why do you think that having an opinion about your fellow classmates is important?


  •                              Write about how you will try to be fare, respectful and supportive of your classmates.

SELF DISCOVERY Writing Assignment-Step One Student exhibits no ability to process questions. Student can read questions,but requires prompt and guidance for answers. Student can read and write, but needs reassurance for written portion of his or her work. Student can read and write without prompting. 16
HERITAGE Step Two Student has no initiative to complete task Student is able to read prompts but requires support in written work. Student can read and write with relative ease, but needs quidelines for response. Student works independently at given task. 16
Group Project DISCUSSION What did we learn about ourselves and our fellow students? The student offers no exchange of information. The student is 'observing differences' The student offers differences and similiarities The student analyses reasons for the importance of communications in a culturally diverse classroom. 4 points
