Pollination in Review

So did you learn the part the busy bees play
We had so much fun learning but its time to close the day
Lets conclude the process of pollination
By reading a small paragraph on the process
And there is a diagram also to clear up any mess
And just in case you want to learn more about pollination
There is a power point below to help you carry on.

Summarizing Paragraph

Theflower contains both male (stamen) and female (carpel) reproductive parts. Thestamen produces the male gametes in the form of pollen and the carpel produces female gametes in the form of ovules. For sexual reproduction to occur you musthave pollination occurring followed by fertilization in which a zygote isproduced. Pollination is the process by which pollen grains are transferred fromthe anther to the stigma. There are two types; self-pollination and crosspollination. There are several agents that aid this process these include bees, butterflies, humans, water and wind. Pollination is very important because ifthis process is not successful then fertilization cannot occur and in generalsexual reproduction in plants will not occur.
