Conclusion
I will end the lesson by asking students to reflect on where they are in relation to reaching the Learning Target. We will repeat TSWBAT together again as a class and use the Formative “Thumbs Up” Assessment in order to gain additional insight on where my students’ comprehension stands. We will then discuss bringing the parents and families of the students into the classroom to view the family trees, timelines, and class photo album that we have composed. In addition to this, we will talk about the future assignments and ask parents to talk about their jobs and what they do for a living.
Finally, I will request that my students pull out a piece of paper and answer the following "Reflection Questions"...
- Can you give me some examples of different kinds of animal families?
- What are some important events that we celebrate with our families?
- What is your favorite place to vacation with your family?
- What did you like about learning about families? Was this a difficult assignment? What was your favorite part?
