The Accounting Cycle

Focus:

This webquest is designed to give financial accounting students hands on learning experience by putting them in a situation where they would act as a financial accountant.  Students were to go through the accounting cycle by preparing certain documents and financial statements. 

Objectives/Goals:

I would recommend that this project be assigned after students are familiar with the accounting cycle.  This project could also be given as a final exam.  When completing this project, students will be able to think abstractly.  They will also be able to think on a professional level and learn some valuable computer skills by using Excel.  Students will have fun using their math skills and computer skills. 

Resources:

Students will need a week to complete the project.  They will need to use computers that are equipped with Excel.

Credits:

The websites are external websites that are very helpful.  The Accounting Textbook is also a great source for the students to use in order to complete this project.
