WebQuest

Teacher Page

getinput(1).jpg

Focus:  This webquest was created to help computer teachers instruct their students on the parts of a computer and the 4 main components of what a computer does.  It was targeted for grades 3 through 5 but could be edited and used with some younger students as well as some older ones.

Objective: The webquest could be used at anytime with little prior knowledge on the students parts.  It would be important for them to at least know the names of the basic computer parts.  Students will learn the purpose/process of a computer (input, storage, processing, output) and be able to tell if a piece of computer equipment is an input or output device.

Resources:  Student will need to use the internet to access the form, the videos, the games and the quiz involved in this webquest.  Students will complete this webquest independently although you could choose to pair or group students.

Credits:  I would like to thank Intel for the available videos that help make understanding the components of the computer clear.  I would also like to that Quia for creating a site where teachers can create activities and quizes inexpensively.
