Causes of the American Revolutionary War

Students will be able to:

• Explain the interests and roles of South Carolina in the events leading to the American Revolutionary War
• Identify and describe the effects of the Stamp and Tea and summarize South Carolina's reaction
• Summarize the role that Christopher Gadsden and the Sons of Libery played in South Carolina

Students will complete the following tasks:

• Create a chart showing the causes of the American Revolutionary War, including the Tea and Stamp Act
• Create an advertisement protesting the Stamp Act in South Carolina
• Write a newspaper article on Christopher Gasden explaining his position on the Stamp and Tea Act, and his role in the Sons of Liberty
• Create a brochure advertising for new members to join the Sons of Liberty
