Process

  1. First you will need to look at the two links below. Click on them and fully read and check out the websites. (Do not close out of them when you are done, you will need these for your map)
  2. http://www.fns.usda.gov/tn/Resources/nibbles/pyramid_servings.pdf
  3. http://kidshealth.org/kid/stay_healthy/food/fgp_interactive.html
  4. Grab the blank piece of paper that is on your desk and also grab pencils, markers, crayons or whatever you would like to use on your map.
  5. Determine a place where you would like your bandit to start(For example he could start as the grocery store, the bakery, the meat market, the market, a restaurant, etc...) and draw it on your map and label it #1.
  6. Now grab your other blank piece of paper and start at the top with #1. You will need to say what the place is, what the bandit ate/bought there, and why. (So an example could be...#1 The bakery: The bandit stopped here for two slices of bread. He ate two slices of bread to fulfil one of his servings of grains.)
  7. Next you will determine the next stop on your map. Again it may be any place but it must be a place where he can get one of his servings, because remember he needs all of his servings because he is the healthy eating bandit!
  8. You will label this on your map and as #2 on your other sheet.
  9. Keep doing this until you have reached all of the servings needed to have a healthy diet. Once you are sure that you are completly done you may turn in your map and other sheet to me.
  10. If other students are still working, you may play the "Blast Off" game until time is up! Be sure to check out the evaluation page and conclusion page before you play the game!
