Process

Now that you know your assignment, it is time to get started.

  • First, you will need to pick a partner. You and your fellow archeologist will need to perform the following tasks:
  • Visit the Evaluation page to make sure you understand how you will be graded for this project.
  • Go to this website http://www.carlos.emory.edu/ODYSSEY/GREECE/homepg.html to get a good overview of the Ancient Greek people.
  • Download and print the Exhibit Guide. Use it to guide you in the areas you will need to include in your display. The exhibit guide is at the bottom of the page!
  1. Visit the following websites to gather information you will need. http://www.ancientgreece.com/s/Main_Page/, http://www.historyforkids.org/learn/greeks/religion/greekrelig.htm, http://www.greekmythology.com/, http://www.historyforkids.org/learn/greeks/government/index.htm, http://www.ancienthistory.mrdonn.org/Greeklife.html, http://www.abc.net.au/arts/wingedsandals/history8.htm, http://www.discoverychannel.co.uk/greece/education/index.shtml, http://multimedia.olympic.org/pdf/en_report_658.pdf, http://www.greatbuildings.com/types/styles/greek.html
  2. Now that you have gathered lots of good information, you can begin planning your display and artifact model.
  3. You will need to gather a backboard (you can get one from the library) and other materials to make your board factual and creative. Make sure you display shows how the values of the Ancient Greek people affected their society.
  4. Put together your board and model. In addition, prepare an oral presentation to "sell" your exhibit to the curator of the museum.

Once you have completed your project, you can visit these sites to play some fun games about Ancient Greece:

Don't forget to check out books in the classroom and library for more information.
