Process

Step 1

1. Keep a diary 7 times as you live in Korea.

You need to keep a diary as you stay in Korea for a week.

Doing this, you will find information about Korea and places that you want to visit in Korea.

Just imagine that you are already in Korea.

2. To get information easily, you will make a groups of 4 and share your ideas about Korea.

Your group should brainstorm together.

Imagine what would happen in Korea and what difficulties you would come across when you are in Korea.
Write down your opinions and thoughts about it.

Your diary should include your daily life experience, studies and job.

Here are some suggestions you can think about:

1) You can think about whether you have any difficulties dealing with the local people and the culture shock.

2) What will happen when you're in Korea?  Your diary may involve accommodation, food, weather and so on.

3) You can also make a contrast between your life in your home town and in Korea.

4) If you want to get a part-time job, think about what you will do and what will happen to you.

5) Is it easy to find a job some where you're not familiar with?

6) Do you know what kind of visa is allowed to find a part-time job?

7) Will you get used to the working style in Korea? What problems will happen? What difficulties will you come across?

You can find more information from our website:

I recommend that you visit this area.

These sites have lots of information about Insadong.

But, unfortunately, they are Korean sites.

If you visit these sites, you will learn more about Korean culture.

Step 2

Get information about the law or system connected with the job that you want to have in Korea.

You can get this information from our website. You are supposed to write down your opinions and what you have known and learned from that.

1. First of all, if you want to get jobs in Korea, you have to know the laws about foreign workers.

The foreign workers are protected by the Constitution, the Labor Standard Act of Korea.

We will introduce some statements in Constitution about foreign workers.

     • All citizens are equal before the law, and there may be no discrimination in political, economic, social, or cultural life

on account of sex, religion, or social status[the Korean Constitution, Article11].

     • The calculation of the seniority of a worker is limited to the same business entity

from the day on which he was employed.

Seniority within the same business before and after the promulgation and enforcement of the Act shall be combine for calculation purposes[the Labor Standard Act, Article 5].

2. If you want to know more about these laws, you can visit our website : http://sites.google.com/site/foreignerworkersinkorea/
And you can get more information from some sites we introduce : http://www.moj.go.kr/ , http://www.immigration.go.kr/

3. if you are acquainted with the laws from the information in site we introduce, you will get jobs more safely and easily.

4. Finally, you have to write down your opinions and what you have known and learned from that.

Step 3

When you go back to your country, you could buy some gifts for your family, friends and yourself.

Maybe you can buy Korean traditional souvenirs so that you can remember Korea whenever you see the souvenirs.

1. We want you to choose at least 4 korean souvenirs and get information about them.

I'm sure that you will learn more about Korea and its culture while you find information.

our purpose is for you to study and get to know Korea with this kind of way.

2. After you get information, you have to know how the souvenirs are used in Korea and why Korean people used them.

3. And then you have to give a presentation about them.

And you need to share what you have known so far and what gifts you expect to buy in Korea.

This site would be helpful for you to find information about Korean Souvenirs.

   http://sites.google.com/site/souvenirsfromkorea/

This site is about Jeonju Hanok Village. All souvenirs I introduced in my website can be found here.

There are still more gifts that I didn't introduce.

Step 4 !!

★ After following all these steps, you will summarize all things including your diary,

information about Korean jobs and your opinions about Korean souvenirs.

And each of you has to give a presentation in 15 mins in a class.

You will share your information, opinions and thoughts one another.

I'm sure these all steps will help you know more about Korea.
