Salinity in Wagga Wagga

Research comprises of three phases


1a) In pairs, use the concept map from the previous lesson to identify your gaps in content knowledge about salinity in Wagga Wagga. 

1b) Use your judgement to choose resources from among the teacher recommended ones you think will best help you address your inquiry questions. 


2a) Explore the resources and complete filling in key information in your concept map

2b) In groups of fours, role play an environmentalist, a new home owner, a landscaper and a farmer and create create an ensuing  skit about salinity and possible management strategies. You will be expected to present the play to class.

2c) Use your mobile devices to take pictures depicting salinity causes, impacts and management strategies in Wagga Wagga, caption them and share with the class on Edmodo; photos can also be taken during field work. 

2d) Use research template in the resources section to carry out a mini independent research, identifying and 'Edmodoning' a site about salinity. 



3a) Critically Outline one new thing you have learnt about salinity and Edmodo it.

3b) Write  a reflective blog about your learning journey; highlight life long learning skills you have developed as a result of the inquiry study of salinity making it clear how you acquired the skills. That is, reflect on information research process you did. Highlight: the skills you have acquired and the knowledges developed about conducting research, why and how to evaluate sources, types of sources that are likely to be more reliable and the value of using multiple sources.
