Our country's geography is made up of many physical features, such as rivers, oceans, and mountains. Our country's geography is also made up of various man-made features such as bridges, roads, homes, and businesses. It is important to understand the geography of our country because its features shape the way that people in the United States work, travel, and live. Therefore, as geographers working for the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, you have been given the opportunity to travel across the United States to visit major landmarks and learn more about their characteristics and significance. What are the characteristics of the physical and man-made features in the United States, and how do they impact the way that we live?
