Japanese Internment

Introduction

20111005125605BeruL.jpg

During WWII the U.S. government removed 120,000 Japanese Americans and aliens alike from the west coast to one of ten interior "relocation facilities". This exclusion program was in response to the attack on Pearl Harbor and mass hysteria from the public and government officials. Throughout this WebQuest you will examine primary documents from the government and from the camps and also listen to interviews from those interned. You will answer questions about the internment process and about life within the camps. Finally, you will take what you know about the Constitution and it's Bill of Rights and write a short essay (a few paragraphs)as if you are a lawyer in either defense or support of the relocation program.
