This evaluation is based on the principles of the Rubric (below) to insure standardized evaluation for all students. Specific criteria is outlined and will be what the instructor will use as a guide in grading this project.

Evidence/ Commentary The outline contains three supporting claims with very precise, detailed information/evidence (2+) for each supporting point that is essential to the topic, in addition to including commentary (2+) - specific anecdotes and quotations which are attributed to sources with proper MLA parenthetical documentation. The outline contains sufficient 2+ information/evidence for each of the three supporting claims and includes attributions to sources with proper MLA parenthetical documentation and 2+ commentary for each supporting point, though one or two errors may appear. The outline includes weak information/evidence related to the topic, but may not include three supporting claims each with 2+ pieces of commentary, elaborating or expanding upon essential information which is attributed the sources and may not use proper MLA parenthetical documentation. The outline includes insufficient and/or inappropriate information and commentary and does not include any attribution to sources in MLA format or otherwise. 10
Thesis Thesis is clear and proposes an arguable point which people could reasonably agree or disagree; it takes a stand. Thesis employs emphatic language (should, ought, must) and a strong verb. Mechanics/ Grammar The outline exhibits excellent use of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and format. There are many errors. The outline has serious errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and format. 10
