As we study the industrial revolution, we come to realize how important this era was to history.  Many of the inventions and innovations from this time period greatly affect our life today, from the steam engine to the chocolate bar.  Most students today own a cell phone, if were not for Alexander Graham Bell’s invention, we might not have the mobile convenience of cell phones.  This lesson has taught us that much of what we take for granted today was cutting edge, revolutionary ideas of the time.  Many were eagerly embraced while others met with doubt and criticism.
