Art and Activism
Welcome
Welcome: Art and Activism
Description:
“There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.” --Elie Wiesel. Students need to understand that an important part of adulthood is to take a stand for social, political or environmental issues that will affect their lives. Throughout history art has mimicked the society and culture present at that time. Our students today are faced with an abundance of social, political and environmental problems that they cannot and should not ignore. Students will choose a topic and create an artwork that reflects their opinion about it.
