Fun with Sight Words

Welcome: Fun with Sight Words
Description: This is an activity to help younger children improve their reading ability. 20 sight words will be written out on 20 Popsicle sticks and placed in a jar along with a drawing of a dancing kid, a book, and a silly face. The kids sit in a circle and take turns drawing out a stick and reading the word on the stick. If the word is read correctly, the stick gets thrown in the middle of the circle. If it is read incorrectly, the stick gets put back in the jar. If the dancing kid is drawn, all the kids must stand up and dance for about a minute. If the book is drawn, another stick must be drawn and a sentence made out of it. If the silly face is drawn all the kids say "back in the jar" and put all the sticks back in the jar.
