Description: In this lesson, you will use a KWL Chart to gain basic knowledge and understand important new words as they prepare to read nonfiction text. After this lesson, you will have a strong foundation to read, write and also use nonfiction.The first objective of this lesson is to assist you get introduced to using KWL Charts as tools to help you read nonfiction. It will also help you familiarize yourself with unfamiliar words and help you share what you know regarding nonfiction literature choices and the applicability of this knowledge to assist you make reading preparations.
