Welcome: Moving West & Dakota Territory
Description: This is a social studies focused project that is intended for 10th grade students. In this unit, students will participate in a variety of activities to better understand the background of the Louisiana Purchase; the Lewis and Clark Expedition; moving west and the Dakota territory; and the overall reaction to action of this time. By actively engaging in activities that will further students' knowledge about these topics, students will be able to identify aspects of this time. This webquest is part of moving west and the Dakota territory. It takes students on a journey of Western expansion of the United States and how it shaped America into a modern nation.
