Welcome: Volcanoes
Description: A volcano is a mountain that opens downward to a pool of molten rock below the surface of the earth. When pressure builds up, eruptions occur. Gases and rock shoot up through the opening and spill over or fill the air with lava fragments. This webquest will help students to better understand volcanoes and assess them on what they learn in class and research on. Students are required to placed themselves in small groups of five to six people and discuss what they know about the Soufriere Hills volcano in Montserrat.
