Welcome: Ancient China: A Blast from the Past
Description: Teams of students will go back in time to ancient China as interviewers and reporters. On their trip, they are each charged with interviewing a person from a specific field or walk of life in ancient China. Guided by websites filled with factual information, historical accounts, photographs, and video clips, the students will collect data to write newspaper articles from the perspective of their featured historical person. They will also collect items from the time that best represent their particular field of study. By combining their individual articles into a newspaper and their collected items into a time capsule, the students will present a well-rounded glimpse into life in ancient China. After this evaluation, as a team, they will compare and contrast what their findings reveal about life in ancient China to that of the modern American society we live in today.
