Slavery...Scars from the Past

This webquest is aimed for all learners.  There may be some activities that will require assistance for some students.  There are many informational sites too!  I would suggest modeling on a couple of websites for the students to know what to do.  Walking through the different sites using a data projection screen to show examples of ways to listen to the different information would be a visual for students. 

For differentiated instruction, you could pair ELL students up with others.  Many of the websites have an icon to listen instead of read.  Students could also have less work to complete.  Maybe 1 map, 3 journal entries, and 1 drawing. 

BrainPop is another website that offers videos and quizzes for all subjects, including slavery.  The web sites provided in this webquest are full of other activities from this time frame, such as George Washington, Civil War, timelines, ect.  Please feel free to use this webquest to help teach your students more about slavery.
