Gray Whales

This webquest was created for a 5th grade inclusion class. It is part of a theme unit in Reader's Workshop. This webquest is intended to be used to teach students about whales as well as how to search for specific information when reading nonfiction text on the web. The sites provide students with information on various reading levels, pictures, maps, diagrams, and videos. Final projects may be completed independently, in partnerships, or in small groups, depending on the needs of the students.

Students should be provided with books, magazines, newspaper clippings, informational posters, etc. to accompany the theme unit.

Grayson by Lynne Cox makes for an amazing and extremely worth while read aloud addition to the unit as well!!! This book is a mus read for any lover of whales, the ocean, or excellent writing!
