Categories of Hardware Devices

This webquest is intended to introduce students to the basic components of a computer system and how it works. The key questions to be answered in this quest are:

What five basic operations do all computers follow?

What are some of the devices associated with each of the tasks? 

Students may divide the tasks among themselves, however the teacher should ensure that there is interaction and discussion so that at the end of the exercise all members of the group would have satisfied the objectives of the lesson. 

Students will find this webquest useful as from the findings and activity they will gain information that will help them when they need to purchase their own personal computers.

Students should have prior skills of using the internet for research .

Students should also have completed a lesson in using a presentation package such as Microsoft Powerpoint.
