WebQuest

Teacher Page

This webquest specifically targets knowledge on how volcanoes are formed at convergent plates, divergent plates and hot spots. It is suitable to be taught at the grades 9-11 levels. It will take students roughly one week to complete all the tasks and activities outlined. If you need to cover this content within one class then I recommend changing some of the activities to more simple and doable tasks for the time you have to work with.

Standards

In Jamaica, the national curriculum standards which guide the grades 9-11 learning are the NSC- National Standard Curriculum for grade 9 and  CSEC- Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate for grades 10 and 11. Both curriculum require students to be actively engaged in the teaching and learning process in order to develop critical thinking skills and other 21st century skills.
