This webquest is geared toward students learning, speaking and writing the alphabets, the age group is from preschool age to kindergarten. By the second week each student should be able to identify and say their alphabets, By the fourth week they should be able to identify, say, and write their names.

Some advice I leave with you, is first to know each one of your students personally, so that you are able to recognize their strengths and weakness, this is for you to know when and how to change the course of your teaching.

The standards are:

Built upon the strengths and lessons of current state standards


Georgia Performance Standards :

ELAGSEKRI1: Students will create a name book that will help not only learn how to spell their names, but identify letters and pronunciation.  Recognize that spoken words are represented in written language by specific sequences of letters. c. Understand that words are separated by spaces in print. d. Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.

ELAGSEKRI2: Students will be able to identify words by identifying the letters from their names and learn to pronunciation words.

ELAGSEKRI3: Students will be able to connect the letters of their names and the words that has the same letters.

ELAGSEKRI10: students will learn to read a story and pronounce the words with the help of their own name by using the letters in their name. NET-S 1a. Students will be able to articulate words by learning how to pronounce the letters of their names and words in a book.
