This WebQuest allows students to explore two artists who made history:
Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse.
Both of their styles are still evident today!
Through various research websites and activities,
students will better understand these two artists and their styles of cubism and fauvism.
Third grade students are the focus of this WebQuest.
Therefore, the activities and resources are designed to meet the Common Core's third grade standards (Below).
This WebQuest can be completed in 2 or 3 days during  art or language arts sessions.
Integrating art, writing, and reading will make learning that much more important to students.
Students can work independently, in pairs, to complete the tasks.
Help them to find a partner with whom they will be able to be productive.
Assisting students with downloading and printing documents may also be necessary.
Before sending students to work on this WebQuest on their own,
it may be helpful to show them how to access the various resources provided.

Most the pictures shown in the WebQuest are pictures from the above mentioned book.
The picture of Picasso, painted in the Cubism style was taken from https://www.tes.com/lessons/OHF8A0tLSFqtBQ/picasso.
The picture of Matisse, painted in the fauvism style by Andre Derain, was taken from http://www.wikiart.org/en/andre-derain/portrait-of-matisse-1905.
